After returning home in 1987 from working in Australia for two years running a Brisbane based Sports Car team, Steve Weeber formed Performance Engine Centre Ltd. in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Initially he was involved in building engines for Jet Boat Marathon competitors, achieving much success winning NZ and World Marathons multiple times. Performance Engine Centre Ltd was and is also heavily involved in the engine preparation of Formula 5000 cars competing here in NZ, Australia and Europe.

Our general automotive repairs involve much work on classic and historically significant vehicles. 

Regular jet boat work led to the decision to import new engine packages.
After researching the market we teamed up with Marine Power USA as they stood out as a lead provider of marine engine packages globally.
Since then this side of the business has steadily grown.
